Instrumental Karate Test Requirements
Please see your child's band/orchestra folder for the requirements.
This program is one of the main types of assessment in the instrumental program. End-of-year progress report grades for instrumental skills and knowledge will be largely based on student tests and progress through this program.
Progress is reported using the letters I (Independent),
P (Progressing), and E (Experiencing Difficulty)
4th Grade Goals - By May
Independent- Purple or higher
Progressing - Orange, Green or Blue
Experiencing Difficulty - White or Yellow
5th Grade Goals - By May
Independent - Any level of Black
Progressing - Purple, Red, Brown
Experiencing Difficulty - Blue or below
Portions of a student's progress report will also include information regarding lesson attendance, practicing, conduct, and achievement on music prepared for performance
In order to participate in the Jazz Band, 5th grade students MUST be Purple Belts or higher before rehearsals begin in October for the Fall semester, and February for the Spring semester. Jazz Band is for 5th Graders only.
